In 2026, the Festival Orchestra of Lincoln Center celebrated its third season under Renée and Robert Belfer Music & Artistic Director Jonathon Heyward with exciting premieres and commissions paired with timeless classics. The season explored beloved melodies and new works with exhilarating programs that sparkled with passion, wit, elegance, and fanfare. The ensemble is comprised of world-class musicians who perform year-round as soloists, chamber musicians, and in other ensembles across Lincoln Center's campus and around the globe. The Festival Orchestra of Lincoln Center comes together each summer during Lincoln Center's Summer for the City to celebrate and share iconic orchestral works in dialogue with new and rediscovered music. During the Fall and Spring season, audiences are invited to Festival Orchestra Up Close, where select performers from the Festival Orchestra of Lincoln Center expand their summer concert schedule for rarefied evenings of unique chamber ensemble performances at the David Rubenstein Atrium.
