Part of the Pasculano Collaborative for Contemporary Dance

Experience extreme athleticism with a virtuoso of motion, as choreographer Elizabeth Streb proves that contemporary dance can be action-oriented and explosive, while still remaining as graceful and captivating as ballet. The documentary BORN TO FLY: Elizabeth Streb vs. Gravity is the story of the groundbreaking artist sometimes called “the Evel Knievel of dance.” Streb’s athletic dancers are part gymnast, part acrobat, and part extreme thrill seeker—walking on walls, diving through glass, and moving so fast they seem to fly. The film culminates as Streb and her dancers prepare and present gravity-defying performances as part of London’s Cultural Olympiad leading up to the 2012 Olympics.
