Having partnered in 2014 for the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the birth of the legendary author and activist James Baldwin, National Black Theatre and the Baldwin Family Estate now reunite to proudly commemorate the historic occasion of Baldwin's centenary. This one-night-only event, scheduled on Baldwin's birthday, will not only be a celebration of his lasting impact, but also a call to action. Luminaries in the fields of politics, literature, and Black culture will reflect on the multifaceted contributions of Baldwin, centering the ways he lived as an artist, son, brother, agitator, and critic, highlighting how his life's work resonates ever more urgently today. Through a series of curated responses across Alice Tully Hall, we invite you to delve into the depths of Baldwin's enduring wisdom. Don't miss this opportunity to celebrate the 100th birthday of James Baldwin! It’s a day to honor a legacy that continues to shape our world and inspire change.
