Lincoln Center Arrival Tableau, NYC
Josh S. Rose’s Monumental Visual Art Project at Lincoln Center is an Ode to the Performing Arts
On view in David Geffen Hall, accessible for free during public hours
A vibrant visual symphony that captures the energy, artistry, and dynamism of the performing arts; the mural showcases artists from music, theater, dance, and opera, each interpreting the theme of arrival. Set against the backdrop of Lincoln Center’s iconic campus, the piece offers a celebration of New York as a global stage where culture, creativity, and community converge.
One hundred and forty feet long, the mural is a rich and deliberate tapestry of movement and sound. In it, dancers are featured mid-leap, musicians are seen playing instruments, and guests are enraptured by the diverse artistic acts, reflecting the opulent, sensory experience of live performance and bringing viewers into the electric atmosphere of Lincoln Center. This visual layering of disciplines illustrates how "arrival" is not a singular moment, but a continuous, shared experience—a culmination of intense preparation and the merging of art and audience as the ultimate destination.
The mural celebrates the cultural diversity of New York, honoring the City's role as a beacon for global talent, where artists "arrive" from all corners of the world to contribute to the city’s creative spirit off and on stage.
